The Dal Lago family begins its presence in the wood field at Montecchio Precalcino with grandfather Ettore, an artisan carpenter, who immediately after the war adds to his job a small trading of plywood.
At the end of the fourties, his son Serafino, carrying on the family tradition, takes over the activity and transfers its site to Thiene, firstly in via De Muri and later in via Del Costo, so as to use a new and larger space, giving a greater impulse to the wood trading.
In 1977, with the premature death of Serafino after 30 years of activity, his sons Ettore and Lorenzo take over.
Since then the Dal Lago brothers have concentrated their efforts in the accurate research of woods, offering a rich and varied range of materials.
The enlarging of the business then brings the necessity for more space, therefore the activity is transferred to the Ca' Orecchiona where on 20.000 sq. mt., the current depot is established.
The choice of materials increases further, concentrating always and only on the best world-wide productions.
All this allows the Dal Lago firm to be competitive in the wood field thanks also to consolidated experience in the field of its many uses.
After years of activity in wood trade, Dal Lago Spa has focalised its business in a restricted field of woods, and thanks to the skills acquired in the past the company has widened its range. DAL LAGO S.p.A. can now bear an important market of OAK, AUSTRIAN/SIBERIAN LARCH, WHITEWOOD and LENGA, as well as other kinds of wood.
